Holiday Bell Lights, British Ever Ready batter light sets

Ask about things you've come across that you'd like to know more about, as long as they're reasonably related to lighted Christmas decorations. When we figure out what you have, we might move the discussion to a more suitable forum (or start a new one), but this is a good place to start out.

Holiday Bell Lights, British Ever Ready batter light sets

A reader writes:

Hello-I am an old flashlight collect, with a crossover into Xmas lighting as well. I'm active on the flashlightmuseum.com, collectors page. As you can imagine, my collection includes many battery lights and lanterns with an Xmas theme. If I can be of any help in that regard, please let me know.

I do have a question on a related topic, I picked up a set of Delta Holiday Bell Lites, mint in box, except missing the bulbs. Do you know what they originally came with? Ceramic or translucent, blinking or not? I suspect ceramic C-7. Also, the rounded more modern cone, or tapered?

And finally, do you have, or know where to get, additional records? It came with the original four, but instructions say additional records were available from Delta, may they rest in piece.

Not battery operated, but cool nonetheless.

I have several sets of British Ever Ready battery light sets, complete with boxes and the battery cottage cover. This would be late 40's-early 50's. Let me know if you would like pictures.

Thanks for getting in touch. I've had a couple flashlight collectors get in touch, and you're quite welcome. If you'd like to participate on the discussion forum, please let me know the nickname you'd like to use and I'll sign you up.

Regarding the Holiday Bell Lights, I'm forwarding your question to Fred Fox, who operates the NoelKat online vintage Christmas decoration store, and knows way more about this class of product than I do.

One thing that would be nice would be photographs. If you would hit "reply all" and attach photos of the thing, I'd very much appreciate it, plus it would give Fred more to work with.

Have a great holiday season.

More from Steve:

Do you know Cindy Chipps? She said the set took ceramic C-7 lights, the rounded stye, not the cone-shaped, so will pick some up when Scott Antiques comes to the fairgrounds later this month. Trying to find more records for the set. Tim Tromp runs the Kilokat bulb web site.

If you are contacted by flashlight collectors, please feel free to put them in contact with me. Some stuff attached. I can do identification, appraisals, and repairs.
