Post subject:  C7 Pink Bulbs

I am trying to get information on pink color C-7 bulbs that were sold by GE and Westinghouse years ago. I cannot find them in any of the Christmas catalogs I use for reference, yet they exist!
It is my belief that these pink bulbs were actually sold as night light bulbs, in fact, you can still buy them today.
Has anyone seen these in a GE lighting catalog or other catalog? Were they ever sold as Christmas light bulbs?

Thank You

Thanks for the reply the bulbs look the same. My best guess is pink was included in the 5 packs. That means the bulbs I have date to the late 1950s.
I just wish these catalogs were available as .pdf downloads. I don't have the time to wade through hundreds of photos on flikr.

Late 1950s both in Canada and USA NOMA offered a 7 Lite Boxed Set with either Pink GE or Westinghouse Lamps in an ALL Pink Socket Set (sockets, wire and plugs). ROYAL Electric USA offered the same and Miller USA in 1960 sold an ALL pink Boxed Set, Lamps, Wire, Plugs and iridescent Pink Sockets. Sets and Replacements sold well into the early 60s until when the Pastel Trees of the 1950s went out of fashion. Many manufacturers during this period also included Pink in multiple colored sets and GE also included them in their multiple color replacement 5 packs instead of white.

Joe, I would have said "night lights." Thank goodness there are folks here smarter than me. :-)

I believe GE did sell these in replacement packages of 4 in the US. I picked up a couple of these all pink packs both package and bulbs YEARS ago in Washington State. The bulbs had obviously been out of the package and used but put back.

However, given the 1970s price on these, it is very possible that someone may have just re-used the packs to store their pink in.

Well this is interesting. The carton dates to 1972-1977, based on the item number C7-CC. The only catalog that shows pink as a solid color choice is the 1968 catalog. But then I don't have that many G.E. catalogs.
So it is possible those bulbs were re-packed.

My GE catalogs span 61 to 72 and are all Canadian. GE and Westinghouse Canada only marketed their Pink C6 and C7 through NOMA Canada in both sets and replacements, at least as far as I have ever been able to figure. What would the CC reference be then on that package, Candelabra and.......?
